Having took up an interest in Drum & Bass when the scene was still in its youth and known as 'Hardcore' back in the early 1990's and influenced by the pioneering sounds of The Prodigy, Photek, Goldie, Doc Scott, Foul Play and like-minded artists, Silvahfonk purchased a pair of turntables in 1996 and inspired by his good friend DJ Nubian
( Purified Audio ) began his journey into the world of DJ'ing.
During the late 90's he also branched into Hip Hop performing vocally with the group M.I.C ( Mo' Ill Communication ) and also the Zombi Squad. After some success in the Hip Hop scene Silvahfonk reached a crossroads in life and decided to concentrate his future on DJ'ing, playing Drum & Bass.
At the end of the 90's he set about teaming up with fellow DJ Chris Combo and under the moniker 'ChainReaction' they both went on to perform at established clubs in and around the Netherlands including Hemkade and The Palace in Groningen. By this time, Silvahfonk's reputation was spreading and soon he was apprearing on internet radio station and occupying a residency at Subsonik, a long running monthly Drum & Bass event in Groningen. Whilst out on the road his skills and energy were also noted by the Complex Beatz Crew and more DJ work came through the affiliation with the well known record label.
In 2004, Silvahfonk decided to promote his own club night, DNB@Kult which ran successfully for 2 years. There, he helped other up and coming DJ's by giving them a platform on which to perform. Whilst all this was unfolding, Silvahfonk found himself nominated for the 2005 Dutch DNB Awards categories of Best Breakthrough DJ as well as the Best DJ and came away with 2 awards having dazzled the crowd with his fast mixing skills, his 'double drops' and his abitily to hype the crowd in a way that no other DJ does. Following this came further bookings along with regular slots on the well established internet radio stations Bassground.com and Jungletrain.net.
In 2008 Silvahfonk relocated and was soon involved once again on the Amsterdam nightclub circuit hooking up with Rico and the legendary IChiOne Crew. In November 2008 he was invited to play at the Technicality night in London run by Chris Inperspective and the Inperspective Records Crew and showed the crowd that the best DNB DJ's in the world are not neccesarily from the UK. Having made an impression on British shores, Silvahfonk looks set to return back to the UK in 2009 as he continues his efforts to show crowds and DJ's everywhere that there is more to DJ'ing than just DJ'ing on 2 turntables and being a DJ!

postbode? nice :) maar het wordt wel wat koud de laatste tijd he! ja ik dacht wel dat je de set al gezien had, maar wat promohoeren kan nooit kwaad he :p (je kent mij). ik kan jouw smaak ook volledig verstaan hoor, maar we hebben ook andere muzikale roots en jij bent er al iets langer mee bezig. hoewel ik me soms ook een veteraan begin te voelen lately :D
:) ook al vroeg wakker! wat doe je tegenwoordig? ik werk sinds maart in een distributiebedrijf van kunstboeken, niet ver van waar ik woon (juist buiten leuven).
hehe zo druk heb ik het nu ook weer niet hoor ;) alles goed met je vriendin? wij huren nu ook een huisje. ivm die 'party' tunes: ik draai gewoon wat ik goed vind, en probeer het gevarieerd te houden, op het einde van de mix zijn er ook wel paar dingen die je goe vindt denk ik :p leuk om je nog eens te horen!!
